Thanks to all of your generous contributions we surpassed the $10,000 goal we set on Tuesday! Our strength is truly in the number of supporters we have from across the district, state, and nation and that strength will take us to victory on November 2, 2010.
All eyes will be on this campaign to see how much we raise by March 31st, the first General Election fundraising deadline. A strong fundraising quarter will signal to the base, the pundits, and the opposition that we have the wherewithal to go to battle and turn this seat blue. It will allow us to plan more strategically for the later stages of the campaign and it will create momentum around the country to fuel our fundraising. Fundraising is central to fulfilling our mission.
Government needs to work for its citizens. We need to increase economic development, get men and women back to work, pass comprehensive health care reform, and reduce our national debt. Since our last email, Senator Bunning backed down and Congress was able to pass a job creation package that will stimulate the economy and get Americans out of the unemployment line. Mr. Bunning’s tactics certainly aren’t the first attempt to block progress and most definitely won’t be the last. We can’t go backwards. We need to continue to move forward and leave the world better than we received it.
