Dan Seals Fall Internship Program
Illinois’ 10th District is one of the most competitive and significant congressional races in the country. As one of the top pick-up opportunities for Democrats, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has chosen the campaign to be part of the prestigious ‘Red-to-Blue’ program. In order be successful, we need the best and brightest interns to help execute our campaign strategy and spread Dan’s message.
Internship Description: This fall, all students interested in government and politics should consider applying to the Dan Seals for Congress Internship Program. Our program will present students with an opportunity to become an integral part of a top tier campaign.
In the final months of any campaign, it is the “ground game” that matters most. Our interns will develop valuable skills by working closely with field staffers. As we learned from President Obama’s effective use of a field program across the country in 2008, a good ground game is an essential component to a campaign’s success.
Responsibilities Include:
This is an excellent opportunity to learn the inner workings of a Congressional campaign while making valuable contacts for a future role in government and politics. Fellows and interns will sharpen their communication and analytical skills, gain an enhanced understanding of national and local politics, and work directly with campaign staff and volunteers.
Qualifications: Interns must be fast learners, as well as effective communicators who are ready and willing to spread the word about Dan Seals. Internships are open to both college and high school students with an interest in politics and government who have strong written, oral, and organizational skills. Interns are expected to have a strong academic background and be willing to learn and try new things.
