Seals Shines At First Candidate Forum

The 2010 race to fill the open 10th Congressional seat officially kicked off Wednesday at the first forum of the season held at Sedgebrook Retirement Community. Dan Seals led the pack with his commitment to the ideals and concerns of the 10th District.
Three Democratic candidates and two Republican candidates participated in the forum. Each candidate was given three minutes for opening remarks and the opportunity to answer questions from the audience.
Dan reiterated his long standing support for a “public option” to enable affordable health insurance stating that, “I think a public option is the best way to one, help increase quality and two, to lower the cost by providing a more affordable alternative.”
Sedgebrook is a continuing care retirement community for people aged sixty-two and better in Lincolnshire, Illinois. The issues addressed at Wednesday’s forum ranged from health care and Medicare to reproductive rights and immigration.
Small Business Outreach
Earlier this week, Dan continued his outreach to small business owners by meeting in Vernon Hills with owners of local landscaping businesses. The landscaping industry is an important employer in the 10th district and these companies and their employees are environmental stewards as they design and nurture residential and commercial landscapes. Members of the landscaping industry advocate on issues that involve green roofs, water management, composting, pesticides, fertilizers and other environmentally sensitive matters. If you have a small business or belong to a local association and would like to meet with Dan, please send us an e-mail at info@dansealsforcongress.com
